What we collect, and what we do not.
Short, because we collect very little. If anything here is unclear, ask and we will answer plainly.

Who we are
Scatto Marketing Group, a business registered in Ontario and operating from Thunder Bay. You can reach us at scattomarketinggroup@gmail.com or (807) 357-7459, and either of those reaches a real person, not a queue.
Liam O’Neill is accountable for privacy here. That is one named person rather than both of us, because two people jointly accountable means nobody is. Anything on this page, including a request to see or delete what we hold, reaches Liam at the email address above with the word privacy in the subject.
What we collect from this website
What you type into a form, and the few things a form submission carries with it. What you type is your business name, your name, your email address, and optionally your phone number, your social handles, which of our services the enquiry is about, and whatever you write in the message box. The form also records that you ticked the consent box, the wording you agreed to, the time, and the IP address the submission came from, which is what makes the consent record worth anything if it is ever questioned.
There is no advertising pixel, no session recording and no cookie banner, because there are no cookies to warn you about. If we ever add analytics it will be the cookieless kind that counts visits without identifying anyone, and this paragraph will say so on the day it happens.
Why we collect it
- To reply to you.
- To run the free audit on the business you named, which means looking at listings and social accounts that are already public.
- To keep a record that you asked us to get in touch. Canadian anti-spam law does not set a retention period, but it does put the burden on us to prove you agreed, so we keep the record rather than rely on memory.
What we will not do
- We will not add you to a mailing list. Ticking the consent box on a form is consent for a reply about that enquiry, not for marketing email.
- We will not sell, rent or trade your information to anybody.
- We will not use what you send to pitch you something you did not ask about.
Who else sees it
Liam and Simon read what you send. Two other companies handle it on the way: Web3Forms, which takes the form submission and turns it into an email, and Google, which carries and stores that email in our inbox. Both operate servers outside Canada, so what you type leaves the country on its way to us, and neither uses it for anything but delivery. Cloudflare serves these pages and, like every web host, sees the IP address and browser of everyone who loads one. It never receives what you type, because the form posts straight to Web3Forms.
If a job ever needs a freelancer, such as a photographer for a shoot day, we tell you before anything is shared and we share only what that person needs to do the work.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that go nowhere are deleted after two years. Consent records are kept for three years. The law does not name a number, so three is our choice: it matches the window in which a complaint about a message can still be brought. Client records are kept for as long as we work together and for seven years afterwards. The Canada Revenue Agency asks for six from the end of the last tax year the records touch, so seven is one year of margin, not a requirement.
What you can ask us to do
Ask us what we hold about you and we will tell you. Ask us to correct it and we will. Ask us to delete it and we will, except for the consent record and anything a tax rule obliges us to keep, and we will say plainly which is which.
Email scattomarketinggroup@gmail.com and put the word privacy in the subject. It goes to Liam and we answer within one business day.
If you need this in another format
Ask, and we will give you anything on this website in a format that works for you, in a reasonable time and at no extra cost. Large print, plain text, read aloud over the phone, whatever is useful. Same address, or ring the number at the top.
The audit
The free audit looks at information that is already public: your Google listing, your reviews, your social accounts, your website. We do not need a password and we will never ask for one. If you decide to work with us later, access is something you grant deliberately, in your own accounts, and you can revoke it the same way.
If we get it wrong
Tell us first, because we would rather fix it than have you go elsewhere. If we do not sort it out, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
Changes
If this page changes in a way that matters, the date at the top changes and anyone with an open enquiry gets told.
